Ophtalmologist Examination – Eye Examination

The examination by an ophthalmologist, the eye physician is one of the examinations you need to do regularly at least once a year. The alterations can be detected in the earliest stages, and it is then that the curability is most likely.

What does the eye examination cover?

A complete eye examination includes: several sight assessment examinations and examinations for the detection of eye diseases if any. The examination in itself is not painful, although strong lights and strange instruments are used during the examinations. It examines:

- Visual acuity
- Eye refraction (light refraction in the eye)
- All eye parts; muscles activating the eye, eyelids, pupils, eye fundus are examined and visual field and intraocular pressure measured. The examination can not only detect glaucoma, but also systemic diseases that only have an impact on the eye, such as hypertension and Diabetes mellitus and many other diseases.

An eye examination is required for children aged 3 (three) and pre-elementary school children and later on, as well as for adults, once in a year.
